At the avant-garde of music that transcends the divisions between instruments and machines and goes beyond any stylistic faction, Monolithe Noir continues its creative exploration with a fourth album, due out on February 27, 2026, on Humpty Dumpty Records. It is their most vocal work, the most immediate and, despite returning repeatedly to the theme of mourning, also the most luminous.
La foi gelée, the second single and title track, is out today on all digital platforms and is accompanied by a beautiful video directed by Nico Peltier.
"In December 2024, I sent a piece of music to my friend Fabrice Detry (Fabiola) titled "Frozen Faith," hoping he would write lyrics. It eventually turned into a duet. From a rather heavy, almost post-rock track, we arrived somewhere between Swans and the Beach Boys. I didn't have any particular theme in mind when I sent the song to Fabrice. He was inspired by a book, "Petites choses" (Little Things) by Benoît Coquil, which deals with Mexico, psilocybin mushrooms, the CIA, counterculture, and capitalism. Originally, the track ended explosively. With Fabrice's approach, I wanted to completely reverse that and end in a kind of meditative, slightly ironic, yet completely sincere way. The wind chimes you hear at the end of the track actually come from my sound documentary, "Rebecca." For me, they represent the closing of a cycle, a pair." years of working in parallel on this album and this audio documentary."
